Breast augmentation, or augmentation mammoplasty, is a surgical procedure used to increase breast size or enhance breast shape. Breast augmentation will typically utilize silicone or saline implants. Breast augmentation surgery is undergone by woman for many different reasons, including: to correct asymmetrical breasts, to create a more proportionate body shape, to obtain larger breasts, and to enhance or restore self-confidence among other things. To perform the surgery, a surgeon will make a necessary incision; then lift the breast tissue; then create a pocket in the breast area; and then place the implant in the pocket.
Endoscopic Breast Augmentation
The endoscope is used to place implants through a small incision under the arm leaving no scars on the breast. This procedure can be done with either saline or silicone implants.
